Marble
Marble is a very dense and easily polished metamorphic rock, formed when high pressure and heat alter the form of certain rock in the earth's crust. Marble comes in a wide range of colors and textures. Marble is often used for flooring, countertops, and table tops.
Granite
Granite is the hardest of all stone used in the home, formed when magma, molten rock from the center of the earth, cools and hardens. Granite is available in many colors and degrees of veining. Granite is often used for countertops, flooring, and mantelpieces.
Travertine
Travertine is a crystallized form of limestone that is formed by natural mineral springs. Travertine is best known for being porous; its holes provide a great deal of surface interest. Earth tones are most popular, but bright and complex color variations can be found. Travertine is often used for flooring, wall tile, and backsplashes.
Limestone
Limestone is a sedimentary stone formed by the accumulation and compression of shells, coral, sand and other organic materials. It has natural earth tones, a fine grain, and contains few veins. Limestone is often used for flooring, countertops, and window sills.
Sandstone
Sandstone is a sedimentary stone formed from loose grains of quartz. Sandstone has a visibly coarse grain, and is often found in red, pinkish-red and yellow hues. Sandstone is often used for countertops, wall tiles, and flooring.
Slate
Slate is a fine-grained metamorphic rock composed of clay, quartz and shale. Slate floors feature unique natural accents that provide a "rough" texture and appearance. Slate is often used for flooring, and to finish fireplaces.
Manufactured Stone
Manufactured stone, or Agglomerate stone, is a synthetic stone product made from natural stone chips suspended in a binder, such as cement. Manufactured stone may be used in place of natural stone throughout your home.
